Contribution to Non-Profit Organizations

As part of the senior management team of the company, I would suggest the company, Secret Recipe to partner with non-profit organizations. There are a few in which Secret Recipe can contribute positively and meaningfully to the society or environment. First of the suggested non-profit organization is by doing a fundraiser. This can be done when customers are ordering a meal. A small amount of the profit will be given and put into their fundraiser. One example of a company they can be able to contribute is Unicef. Unicef is able to change children’s lives and are preventing poverty from happening all around the world. The question is with Secret Recipe contributing to these organizations, won’t they lose a small amount of profit? During the start of this fundraiser there is sure to be some loss of profit, but the longer this continues the company will start to build up for its support and fame towards its care for the society. By doing certain fundraisers, it also gives customers to know more about non-profit organizations and gives them the initiative to give something back to the society.

Other than organizing a fundraiser, Secret Recipe should also be willing to contribute to organizations that are able to help in humans rights. As an example, Independent Living & Training Centre Malaysia (ILTC Malaysia) is a non-profit organization that supports people with kind of disabilities. ILTC Malaysia helps its members with disabilities by supporting them in breaking through barriers that are in the way and also finding services and contacts they need. Secret Recipe should work together and maybe even hire those who are handicapped through this organization. This will not only prove that the handicapped cannot be a burden through the society but it will also give them a chance to feel accepted. When companies hire the handicapped, it will take a much longer training for them to get it right and understand what they are supposed to do. Fortunately in the long run, it will also show that the company accepts all types of people who are welcome in the company bringing up a positive attitude.

Lastly, Mother Nature has been suffering through so much of pollution which will lead to events such as climate changes and global warming which is occurring rapidly. Therefore, it is important that Secret Recipe contribute to environmental non-profit organizations. A perfect example of an organization is Malaysian Environmental NGOs (MENGO). This can be done by putting up recycle bins up in all its branches for materials to be recycled. Customers in Secret Recipe will also be able to play a role towards a healthy environment by also recycling materials in the store branches. Once the material is recycled, the profit gained will be then given to MENGO in order for the organization to create education and awareness raising on environmental concerns. This also gives Secret Recipe a different perspective from its customers by helping out to the environment in a positive way. Secret Recipe employees will also be able to increase their general knowledge about the environment, and also give birth to much more environmental friendly employees. In this way, the company workers will be much more motivated which will then increase the input the worker will be able to give. This will therefore increase company profit while also giving sometimes in return to the society giving a win-win situation.
